Human at the Core: Reimagining Work, Workforce and Workplace for the Age of Agentic AI

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA | 22–23 SEPTEMBER 2026

The Malaysia HR Tech & Innovation Conference & Expo 2026 successfully concluded on 22–23 September 2026 at Connexion Conference & Event Centre (Nexus), Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together more than 1,800 attendees, 70 sponsors and exhibitors, 25 speakers, and five HR Tech Innovators for two days of learning, networking, technology discovery, and industry collaboration.

Organised by Malaysia HR Forum & Leaderonomics, the conference centred on the theme “Human at the Core: Reimagining Work, Workforce and Workplace for the Age of Agentic AI.” The event brought together HR leaders, business decision-makers, technology experts, industry practitioners, and solution providers to explore how organisations can embrace technological advancement while keeping people at the heart of workplace transformation.

Exploring the Future of HR in the Age of Agentic AI

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the workplace, organisations are rethinking how they attract, develop, engage, and retain talent. The conference provided a platform for the HR community to examine the opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption, workforce transformation, and the evolving role of human leadership.

Across two days, discussions explored key areas including agentic AI, talent acquisition, people analytics, skills-based organisations, employee experience, learning and development, organisational culture, leadership, cybersecurity, and responsible AI adoption.

Through keynote presentations, expert-led sessions, industry discussions, and practical insights, speakers challenged participants to look beyond technology implementation and consider how innovation can strengthen human capabilities, organisational performance, and the employee experience.

The central message was clear: as technology becomes increasingly capable, human judgement, creativity, empathy, ethical leadership, and meaningful workplace relationships remain essential to building successful organisations.

Two Days of Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Collaboration

The conference featured 25 distinguished speakers, bringing together local and international perspectives on the changing world of work.

Sessions explored the strategic implications of AI for HR, the importance of developing future-ready workforce capabilities, and how organisations can build cultures that support adaptability, psychological safety, and continuous learning.

Participants also gained insights into the practical application of HR technology, people analytics, AI-powered learning, leadership development, employee experience, and organisational transformation.

Complementing the conference programme, the HR Tech & Innovation Expo provided a dynamic environment for attendees to discover emerging technologies, experience product demonstrations, connect directly with solution providers, and explore potential solutions to their organisations’ HR and workforce challenges.

The event also featured five HR Tech Innovators, showcasing technology-driven approaches designed to address evolving business and people-management needs.

Together, the conference and expo created opportunities for meaningful conversations between HR professionals, business leaders, technology providers, and innovators working towards a more agile, digitally enabled, and human-centred future of work.

Celebrating Excellence at the HR Tech Awards 2026

A key highlight of the conference was the HR Tech Awards 2026, which recognised organisations and individuals leveraging technology to improve work, strengthen organisational performance, and deliver better outcomes for people.

The awards celebrated initiatives that go beyond technology implementation, recognising the role of innovation in driving meaningful workplace improvements and supporting the future of HR.

With nine HR Tech Award winners recognised in the event’s post-event report, the awards highlighted the growing importance of technology-enabled HR practices and the organisations making a positive impact through innovation.

The awards ceremony also provided an opportunity to celebrate progress within the HR technology ecosystem and inspire organisations to continue advancing their people strategies through thoughtful and effective use of technology.

Connecting HR Leaders with Technology Providers

With more than 70 sponsors and exhibitors, the conference created a vibrant platform for engagement between organisations seeking HR solutions and providers delivering technology, expertise, and services to the market.

The exhibition floor enabled attendees to explore solutions across the HR technology landscape, exchange ideas with industry experts, and identify opportunities for collaboration and digital transformation.

For sponsors and exhibitors, the event offered a valuable opportunity to engage with the HR community, showcase their capabilities, strengthen brand visibility, and connect with professionals involved in shaping workforce and business strategies.

These interactions reinforced the importance of collaboration between HR practitioners, technology providers, and business leaders in accelerating the adoption of meaningful HR innovation.

Advancing a Human-Centred Future of Work

The Malaysia HR Tech & Innovation Conference & Expo 2026 reaffirmed the importance of balancing technological progress with human potential.

As organisations navigate an increasingly AI-enabled business environment, HR has a critical role to play in ensuring that technology supports better decision-making, develops workforce capabilities, enhances employee experiences, and creates more resilient organisations.

The conference encouraged participants to move beyond viewing AI and digitalisation as purely technological initiatives and instead approach transformation as a broader organisational responsibility—one that requires strong leadership, responsible governance, continuous learning, and a commitment to people.

By bringing together the HR community and technology ecosystem, the event contributed to ongoing conversations about how Malaysia’s organisations can prepare for the future while preserving the human qualities that make work meaningful.
